Covid-19 Business Support Grants.
Apply for a discretionary business grant from Cheltenham Borough Council

In accordance with government guidance, the Council has set out the qualifying conditions for the Discretionary Business Grant Scheme. The fund has been set up to assist small businesses with high fixed property-related costs who are not eligible for the existing Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grants or Small Business Grants.

Before making an application please carefully read the Discretionary Business Grant Scheme Policy and the notes on the Council's website. Applications that fall outside of the policy's criteria will be refused. Please continue with this application only if you fit the criteria outlined in the policy

This Discretionary Business Grant Scheme is an application process with a closure date of midnight on Sunday 21 June 2020. Once the application process has closed, the Council will then process the eligible applications. We will contact you after 25 June 2020 to let you know if your application has been successful. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by email.

This application is provided to capture the information required by the Council to verify and make the payment of these grants. Grant payments will then be made without delay to all qualifying businesses. You do not have to pay the grant back but it will be taxable. Only businesses which make an overall profit once grant income is included will be subject to tax.

Councils are responsible for carrying out checks to ensure that payments for the Discretionary Business Grant Scheme are made correctly. Cheltenham Borough Council will undertake checks for the purposes of preventing fraud and money laundering, and to verify your identity. These checks involve the processing of personal data about you, and this can be both before any money is paid and afterwards.
